Fayoum food experience

Fayoum food experience

From swimming to sandboarding to kayaking, enjoying clear views of stars at night to camel riding, in Fayoum you can really feel part of the natural environment. Using the environment for cooking can also be part of your Fayoum experience.

For small groups (1 to 5 guests) you can enjoy a charcoal barbeque of chicken, served with rice and salads. However Fayoum tours can also offer a different food experience.
Food is cooked in the ground in several countries, including New Zealand, Hawaii and the Azores (Portugal), in thermal areas or using the warmth the ground naturally retains in a hot, dry climate. In Fayoum, for groups and on request we prepare Abu Mardam, where the food is cooked in the ground.

Guests may also have the opportunity to enjoy locally caught fish. There are several places in Egypt where fishing is done sustainably by locals, and we offer fish cooked in local style where this is possible.
