Arrival in Cairo, meet and assist, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Stop at the Colossi of Memnon.

Visit the Valley of the Kings.

Your tour guide will lead you to the most important tombs among the opened tombs in the valley – You are allowed to visit 3 tombs amongst more than 10 tombs that are currently open.

Visit Hatshepsut temple.

Day 3

Visit the Ancient Workmen Village (Deir El Medina), the Nobles tombs.

Visit Luxor Pottery School.

lunch (Local Family Home) and Medinat Habu.

Evening: Visit Luxor Museum (open from 5 to 8 PM)

Day 4

Visit Karnak Temple.

Visit Luxor temple.

Tour Duration: 3-4 Hours.

To join the dahabiya we drive about an hour from Luxor to Esna.

Visit Esna Temple, Wekalet Al-Geddawi, a caravanserai, and the Ottoman era market of Al-Qaisariya. Sail through the lock and towards Edfu.

Visit El Hegz village.

Lunch and dinner on the dahabiya.

Evening: Lecture and discussion.

Suggested topic: Ancient Egyptian temples and religion under Greek and Roman rule.

Karnak Temple

Day 5

Breakfast on board, sailing to El Kab.

From the village, transfer to see the massive walls of the ancient town of Nekheb and explore the New Kingdom tombs.

Sail to Edfu, horse drawn carriages to visit the Temple of Horus.

Sailing with dinner and free time as you overnight on the dahabiya.

Special Dinner – Christmas Eve

Day 6

Bisaw Island and village, breakfast in a local home.

Walk through farms and meet the villagers.

join the men in their boats to share the experience of Nile fishing.

Sailing to El Selsela ancient sandstone quarry and shrines.

Lunch and dinner both on board. Special barbeque dinner by moonlight.

Kom ombo Temple

Day 7

Breakfast on board.

Visit Kom Ombo temple and the Crocodile Museum.

In the nearby town of Daraw you learn how to shop like a local at the market, visit a barn to meet camels and learn about the camel trade, and as we sail closer to Aswan if you wish there is an opportunity to swim or kayak.

Farewell dinner and sail to our final destination Aswan.

Day 8

Check out of the dahabiya and begin your tour of sites in Aswan, Visit the Unfinished Obelisk and Visit the temple of Philae.

Lunch (Solaih Nubian Restaurant), Visit the Elephantine archeological site.

Walking tour in the Nubian Village Afternoon: Felucca ride on the Nile River to view the following: The Nobles tombs – Agha Khan Mausoleum – the Plantation Island and the Old Cataract hotel.

Felucca ending with a stop by the Old Cataract.

Switch to a motor boat and Transfer to check in to the hotel.

The tour duration 8-9 hours.

Evening: Lecture and discussion.

Day 9

Early morning travel to Abu Simbel and visit the temples.

Lunch.

Drive back to Aswan.

Day 10

Visit Saqqara, including: Imhotep Museum – Step Pyramid – going inside the step pyramid – Onas pyramid – the Nobles tombs – the Serapeum.

Lunch at Saqqara, a good place to try Egyptian food. (Lotus Farm)

Visit Dahshour.

Including the Bent pyramid and the Red pyramid.

Visit Memphis Including the Colossi of Ramses, the open air museum and other archeological sites recently open to the public.

Stop at Ramses Wissa Wassef foundation, a weaving school and atelier.

Tour duration 9-10 hours.

Overnight stay in Cairo.

Giza pyramids and Sphinx

Day 11

Visit Giza. Enter the Great pyramid See the Sphinx, the Valley Temple, Khafra pyramid, Menkawra pyramid.

Camel Ride for 1 hour.

Lunch. (9 Pyramids Lounge)

Visit the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Tour duration 7-8 hours.

Evening: Lecture and discussion.

Day 12

Visit the Egyptian Museum.

Lunch at Abo Tarek.

Visit the Cave church.

Visit Coptic Old Cairo. Include the Hanging church, Abu Serga Church, The Holy Crypt, Ben Ezra synagogue.

Visit Amru Ibn El Aas Mosque.

El Fustat Crafts centre.

Day 13

Visit the Islamic Art Museum.

Visit The Citadel including mohamed ali mosque.

Visit Ibn Tulun and Gayer Anderson Museum.

Lunch at Al-Azhar park.

A beautiful park in the centre of Cairo, on the top of a hill overlooking the city.

Walking tour of Medieval Cairo in El Moez Street.

This is the best preserved area with mediaeval Islamic architecture such as mosques, houses, markets, and other Mediaeval structures.

It’s a perfect place to experience the local culture of Egypt today. Visit Khan El Khalili market.

Day 14

Pick up from your hotel.
