Connecting with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Introduction

Responsible Tourism is one of the most promising industries, linked to the local society to improve its economy and encourage the preservation of ecologies. It is a fundamental source of cultural exchange among the different people of the world and a meeting point to develop understanding between countries.

The World Tourism Organization defines Sustainable Tourism as “an act of sharing between the visitors and their needs with the locals and improving their host communities, connected together to improve their current day to have a better future towards a route paved enough for the benefit of the economy, society, and environment.”

The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development aims to promote sustainable tourism by creating more jobs for locals, marketing their products, implementing and developing more tools to measure sustainable development impacts.

Sustainable tourism is defined as a contributor to sustainable development as it is involved with creating jobs, promoting the awareness of ecology, conserving the environment, protecting and preserving animals and plants, respecting biodiversity and cultural diversity, improving the lives of the locals, and supporting their economy.

Eco Egypt Experiences is an initiative in Egypt to attract travelers to Egypt and connect them with the ecological sites, national parks, and protected areas, and to highlight the animals and plants and natural and geographical landscapes throughout Egypt. It aims to encourage travelers to seek unique adventures that are also sustainable. Eco Egypt is supporting the local communities of Villagers, Bedouins, and Nubians by promoting their products, traditions, and crafts, through activities including walking, teaching, eating, camping, diving, stargazing, and birdwatching.

Real Egypt

At Real Egypt, our agenda for sustainable tourism in Egypt and our vision lies hand in hand with the 2030 Agenda of UN SDGs.

We are applying this Agenda in Real Egypt’s Eco and sustainable tourism, focusing on its importance for developing the tourism industry in Egypt.

Eco Egypt chose Real Egypt together with only 24 other operators in Egypt, as Real Egypt’s founder became interested in environmental protection in 1994 when he joined the group “Alex friends of Environment”, based in Alexandria, Egypt.

Sustainability initiatives that we will include and feature in Real Egypt tours are:

Preservation of and training in traditional crafts, empowerment of women, intangible heritage, and encouragement of intercultural dialogue which is already clearly established in Real Egypt aims.

Those are important aspects of the UN sustainability goals and are of interest to any travelers who choose a tour company specifically for sustainable travelling.
