Celebrating our guides – International Tourist Guide Day

21st February is International Tourist Guide Day, when we celebrate what high quality guiding of tours brings to the lives of so many who travel.

from the North to the South of Egypt, and across the Eastern and Western deserts and oases, our guides bring you the best of their homeland

As the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations says:

Tourist guides do more than share stories – we build bridges, foster understanding, and bring people together. The theme of this year’s is PEACE, reminding us that every tour is an opportunity to connect cultures, break down barriers, and inspire respect for our shared world.
Let’s make every step, every word, and every moment count, because through guiding, we don’t just show the world – we shape it.

Each of our Real Egypt guides has excellent knowledge of the places you will visit and is devoted to sharing their passion for this country. They know the history of the people, not just of the tombs, temples, mosques, churches and other significant places.

They are at home in Egypt’s varied landscapes, and understand the cultural nuances and how these have evolved over the centuries to make Egyptian lives as they are today.

Our guides are storytellers, not just lecturers. Storytelling has an essential role in all cultures as a way of interpreting place, people, and history. Novelist or other writers are forms of storyteller, and we believe an excellent guide is a storytelling artist in another form.

Storytelling delivers what facts and figures alone cannot, it engages our guests with the subjects and themes we encounter during tours, and ignites your imagination and enthusiasm to experience and learn more.

Our guides are an essential element in creating the unique and wonderful experiences throughout your tour.
