Dahabiya Nile Sailing tours are not only about visiting the ancient temples, tombs and remains of cities while travelling along the Nile in the most relaxed, comfortable way. One of our key aims is to give our guests experiences of contemporary life, insights to how the people along the river live and interact with their environment. We also include some adventurous activities that extend your interaction with the river itself.
Our visits to communities give our guests opportunities to meet the Egyptians living there and to learn firsthand about their daily lives, including in some places joining in bread making and enjoying meals. These cross cultural experiences improve understanding and lessen the sense of “otherness”, for both our guests and the families we visit. Our guides also are translators to enhance your interactions. Watching videos and looking at photos cannot give you the human depth that meeting people in their community can give.
A river is a living entity, and while sailing on our dahabiya puts you in close contact with river life, getting even closer to the river is highly recommended. In the safest, cleanest areas of the Nile you have the opportunity to kayak and enjoy a swim.
